Aphasia Help Card, this 2×3.5 inch, hard paper card, has front and back information about aphasia. This card helped me so much after my stroke, when I was cleared to drive, I was afraid, if I got pulled over by a police officer, they will not understand or know I have had a stroke, and sometimes, say the wrong words, and that I’m not drunk. Or I was afraid to go out to eat, and not able to order my food myself, because I couldn’t read the menu fast or say the right words, to order my food, and the server word not know what aphasia, and why I sometimes say the wrong words, or mess up my words. This little card, gave me confidence, and even though it was in my wallet, I knew it was there to help me, when my friends or family member were not with me. I got my independence back ordering food, and driving alone.
